Simon Mignolet has lost his number one spot to Loris Karius at Liverpool, and it seems that the fans do not want to go back.

The Belgian had been first-choice goalkeeper since his arrival at Anfield from Sunderland in 2013.

Since the turn of the year, though, manager Jurgen Klopp opted to promote Karius to the top spot.

Mignolet’s last appearance for the Reds was on New Year’s Day when the team sealed a 2-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Belgian has faced criticism throughout his Liverpool career for failing to be consistently solid between the sticks.

Karius has not exactly stepped up to the plate either, which has caused plenty of fans to urge Klopp to buy a new keeper either in this transfer window or at the end of the season.

Before dropping Mignolet, the manager had been rotating the pair, with Karius settling for the cup competitions.

Since the switch, though, some fans are hoping that their former number one is not selected for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.

Some have even called for third-choice Danny Ward to start.
